MLB Preview: Chicago White Sox (5-6) at Minnesota Twins (6-4)

CHICAGO WHITE SOX NOTES:

WHITE SOX AT A GLANCE
The Chicago White Sox continue a six-game trip tonight with the middle of a three-game series at Minnesota.

RHP Lance Lynn is scheduled to start for the White Sox, who are in third place in the American League Central, 2.0 games behind Cleveland and 1.5 behind Minnesota.

The Sox are 2-2 on the trip, recording a 4-3 victory yesterday over the Twins after losing two of three last weekend at Pittsburgh.

YESTERDAY’S RECAP
Dylan Cease combined with four relievers on a four-hitter, and Hanser Alberto hit a three-run homer to lead the White Sox to a 4-3 victory at Minnesota.

Cease earned the victory, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 5.0 IP … he recorded his 600th career strikeout (Buck Farmer) in the third inning, which according to STATS is fastest pace in Sox history to reach that milestone (495.1 IP) … Cease improved to 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA (1 ER/21.0 IP) in his last three starts against the Twins.

Jimmy Lambert (1.0 IP), Kendall Graveman (1.0) and Aaron Bummer (0.2) posted holds, and Reynaldo López recorded the final four outs for his second career save.

Alberto capped a four-run fourth inning with a three-run shot off Kenta Maeda, his first with the White Sox … Yasmani Grandal went 2-4 with a double and RBI.

The Sox committed a season-high three errors but held the Twins to a 1-7 mark with RISP (nine LOB).
