MLB Preview: Arizona Diamondbacks (69-62) at Los Angeles Dodgers (80-49)

ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS NOTES:

IN THE WEST: The D-backs are second in the NL West, 12.0 games behind the Dodgers, 1.5 games ahead of the Giants and 8.0 games ahead of the Padres.

Following the 4-2 road trip, the Boys and Blue will begin a seven-game homestand tonight with the first of three against the red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks, winners of 10 of their last 12 contests. After Wednesday night’s game, the Dodgers will close out the homestand facing the aforementioned Atlanta Braves from Aug. 31-Sept. 3. The Dodgers hold a 12.0-game lead over Arizona in the National League West division. The Dodgers are 5-5 vs. Arizona this season, splitting the season-opening series at Dodger Stadium (2-2) and going 3-3 at Chase Field. Los Angeles last lost a season series to Arizona in 2018 (8-11).

DOMINATING THE DOG DAYS: The Dodgers yesterday improved to 21-4 in August with just four games left to play in the month.
