Kerry Carpenter equaled a career high with three hits, including a double, while Miguel Cabrera was 2×4 with two doubles. Jake Marisnick also added a hit in the game. Matthew Boyd started for Detroit and took the loss, giving up five runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 5.0 innings. The Tigers bullpen combined for 4.0 shutout frames with Tyler Alexander pitching 2.0 innings and José Cisnero and Mason Englert each throwing 1.0 inning.

MOVIN’ ON UP: Miguel Cabrera had a pair of doubles in yesterday’s game, recording the 883rd multi-hit game of his Major League career. With two hits yesterday, Cabrera now has 3,110 as a big leaguer, tying Dave Winfield for 22nd on the MLB all-time hits list. Additionally, his two doubles on Saturday gave him 1,138 extra-base hits in his career, equaling Ty Cobb for 15th in Major League history.

A CARPENTER AND HIS TOOLS: Kerry Carpenter posted the fourth three-hit game of his career and his second this season yesterday, finishing
the game 3×4 with a double. Since being reinstated from the injured list on Friday, Carpenter has recorded multiple hits in both games, going 5×8 with a double.

TIGERS AND DIAMONDBACKS: The Tigers and Diamondbacks conclude their only series of the season today. The Diamondbacks lead the all-time series 22-17, including an 11-8 edge at Comerica Park.

INTERLEAGUE ACTION: The Tigers continue their interleague schedule today against the Diamondbacks. Detroit is 11-10 against National League foes this season, including a 2-2 record against NL West teams.
