Minnesota Wild Signs Defenseman Stevie Leskovar to Entry-Level Contract

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin announced today that the club has signed defenseman Stevie Leskovar to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning with the 2025-26 season.

Leskovar, 20, has tallied five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 33 games this season with the Brampton Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he ranks fifth on the team with 70 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-4, 216-pound Cambridge, Ontario native recorded 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists), a plus-11 rating, and 96 shots across 61 games for Brampton last season. He also led the team and ranked 13th in the OHL with 113 penalty minutes.

Over his four-season OHL career with Mississauga/Brampton (2023–25) and Peterborough (2021–23), Leskovar has amassed 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists), 237 PIM, and 203 shots in 158 games. Additionally, he contributed 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) and 22 PIM in 16 games for the Lakefield Chiefs of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) during the 2021-22 season.

Selected in the sixth round (174th overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild, Leskovar will aim to bring his physicality and defensive prowess to the professional level.
