Minnesota Wild Acquires Forward Tyler Madden from Los Angeles Kings in Exchange for Defenseman Joseph Cecconi

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin announced today that the club has acquired forward Tyler Madden from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Joseph Cecconi. Madden will join the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Madden, 25 (born November 9, 1999), has tallied 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists), 12 penalty minutes (PIM), and 93 shots in 47 games with the Ontario Reign in the AHL this season. Over his career, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward from Deerfield Beach, Fla., has accumulated 128 points (58 goals, 70 assists), 54 PIM, and 478 shots across 251 games in five AHL seasons (2020-25), all with Ontario. Madden previously played two seasons at Northeastern University (2018-2020), where he recorded 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) in 63 games. Internationally, he contributed four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in seven games at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship, helping Team USA earn a silver medal. Madden was originally selected 68th overall in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

Cecconi, on the other hand, has registered 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 51 AHL appearances for the Iowa Wild this season.
