MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed free agents Yvonne Turner and Natasha Mack to training camp contracts. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.Turner, a 5-10 guard, made her WNBA debut in 2017, beginning a three-year stint with Phoenix. In her most recent WNBA season in 2019, the 34-year-old made 29 appearances (14 starts) and averaged 6.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists while setting career-highs in points (22), assists (10) and a season-best 87.8% from the free throw line. In 95 regular season contests (21 starts), Turner owns career averages of 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She has made 13 career postseason appearances (8 starts), tallying 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
The University of Nebraska graduate is currently playing for CBK Mersin Yenisehir in Turkey where she is averaging 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game in eight KBSL appearances as well as 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game in 10 EuroCup outings. She has played abroad in multiple countries including Australia, Germany, Russia, Spain, Ecuador, Turkey, Poland and Hungary.
Mack, a 6-4 forward, was selected 16th overall by Chicago in the 2021 WNBA draft. Most recently, she signed with Minnesota on July 6 and saw action in one Lynx game last season. She finished her rookie campaign with four appearances and averaged 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per game. The Oklahoma State graduate was named the 2021 WBCA NCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Year, joining Lynx center Sylvia Fowles who earned the same title with Louisiana State University in 2008. Mack holds the Oklahoma State single-season record for blocks with 112 (set in 2020-21) and finished her senior campaign ranked second nationally with 19 double-doubles. In two seasons (55 games) with the Cowgirls, she averaged 18.7 points (on 52.3 percent shooting), 12.4 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per contest.
The Lufkin, Texas native is currently playing for AZS-UMCS Lublin in Poland, where she is averaging 16.1 points (on 58.5% shooting), 10.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game in 17 BLK appearances and tallying 13.7 points (on 45.6% shooting), 10.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in 12 EuroCup outings.
