NEW YORK – Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kyle Clifford has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for high-sticking Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry during NHL Game No. 1234 in Tampa on Thursday, April 21, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 8:10 of the third period. Clifford was assessed a match penalty.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
