Los Angeles Dodgers select Jack Little

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Jack Little and optioned right-handed pitcher Emmet Sheehan. In order to make room on the roster, the Dodgers transferred right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin to the 60-day injured list.

Little, 27, heads to the Major Leagues for the first time in his career. He has made 26 appearances for the Oklahoma City Comets, going 3-2 with a 2.20 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 32.2 innings. He has been in the Dodger organization for five seasons, going a 9-7 with a 4.42 ERA in 128 minor league games. He was with the Big League team during Spring Training, making five appearances, allowing four runs in 4.2 innings. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2019 First Year Player Draft out of Stanford University.

Sheehan, 25, made his regular season debut last night, tossing four innings, allowing one run with six strikeouts. In two seasons with the Dodgers, he is 4-1 with a 4.76 ERA in 14 games. He was drafted by the Dodgers in 2021 in the sixth round out of Boston College.
