ANAHEIM – The Angels have announced a one-year contract with left-handed pitcher José Quijada for the 2025 season, valued at $1.075 million. The deal includes a club option worth $3.75 million for the 2026 season.

Quijada, 29, appeared in 22 games during the 2024 season, achieving a 2-2 record and a 3.26 ERA over 19.1 innings pitched, with 24 strikeouts. He held opponents to a .190 average (12/63) and recorded seven holds. Quijada had 17 scoreless appearances out of his 22 games, including a career-high streak of 12 consecutive scoreless outings from August 14 to September 18.
In his five seasons with the Angels, Quijada has made 106 relief appearances, notching 128 strikeouts and seven saves. He also represented Venezuela during the 2023 World Baseball Classic. Quijada began his MLB career with the Miami Marlins in 2019 after being signed as an international free agent in 2013.
