White Sox to receive cash considerations

ANAHEIM – The Angels today acquired C Chuckie Robinson from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, RHP Davis Daniel has been designated for assignment.

Robinson, 30, appeared in 26 games for the White Sox in 2024 and threw out 21.4% (6/28) attempted basestealers, which ranked third among American League catchers (min. 20 stolen base attempts against). Robinson began the season with Triple-A Charlotte and batted .246 (49/199) with 12 extra-base hits and 32 RBI in 55 games for the Knights, while posting an International League leading 24.6% (14/57) caught stealing rate (min. 20 stolen base attempts against).

A native of Danville, IL, Robinson was originally selected by Houston in the 21st round of the 2016 Draft out of the University of Southern Mississippi. He made his Major League debut in 2022 with Cincinnati and has totaled 51 career Major League games between the Reds (2022) and White Sox (2024).
