SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois’ 17 casinos generated $192.8 million in revenue in May, a 9.2% increase from the same month last year, according to figures released Monday by the Illinois Gaming Board.
Slots drive statewide revenue
Slots accounted for the majority of revenue at $146.5 million, while table games produced $46.2 million.
Rivers Casino in Des Plaines led all properties with $48.7 million, up 7.2% year over year. It was followed by:
- Wind Creek Chicago Southland: $21.2 million, up 14%
- Hard Rock Casino Rockford: $13.8 million, up 3.5%
- Hollywood Casino Joliet: $13.2 million, up 73%
Rivers, the state’s largest casino, drew more than 266,000 visitors in May. Wind Creek Chicago Southland reported more than 177,400, Hard Rock Rockford more than 121,000, and Hollywood Casino Joliet more than 101,000.
Fairmount Park, located east of St. Louis, posted the largest year‑over‑year percentage gain, doubling revenue from $1.2 million in May 2025 to $2.4 million this year — a 106% increase.
Three casinos report declines
Three properties saw revenue fall in May:
- Hollywood Casino Aurora: down from $9.6 million to $8.3 million
- DraftKings at Casino Queen (East St. Louis): down slightly from $7.93 million to $7.89 million
- Argosy Casino Alton: down from $3.2 million to $3.1 million
New casinos boost statewide totals
Illinois’ newest land‑based casinos — Hollywood Casino Joliet (opened 2025), Wind Creek Chicago Southland (opened 2024), and Hard Rock Casino Rockford (opened 2024) — contributed significantly to the state’s year‑over‑year revenue growth.
