Placed 1B Josh Naylor (right oblique strain; retro. to 8/1) and INF Tyler Freeman (right shoulder strain; retro. to 8/2) on the 10-day Injured List…Acquired OF Kole Calhoun (#56) from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash…Recalled INF José Tena (#8) from AAA Columbus.
+Tena, 22, has spent most of the season at AA Akron, batting .260 (80-for-308) with 20 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, 37 RBI and 16 steals in 81 games (.353/.370/.723). He was recently promoted to AAA Columbus on Aug. 2 and made his Triple-A debut last night (1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB). He has appeared in 74 games at SS between the two levels. He is making his debut at the Major League level after signing with Cleveland in July 2017 as an international amateur free agent.

Calhoun, 35, has split the season at the Triple-A level with the New York Yankees (4/20-6/3) and Los Angeles Dodgers (6/4-8/3) organizations after being granted his release by the Mariners at the end of Spring Training. Between AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (NYY) and AAA Oklahoma City (LA), he has batted .297 (69-for-232) with 17 2B, 5 3B, 9 HR & 46 RBI in 58 games (27 BB, .376/.530/.906). The 11-year Major League veteran has posted a career average of .243 (1042-for-4291) with 198 2B, 18 3B, 173 HR & 557 RBI in 1196 games (.316/.418/.734).
He will join the Guardians Major League team tonight.
