HARRISON, NJ – NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced that the club has traded midfielder Victoria Pickett to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for $200,000 in allocation money.
“Although my time here was short, I loved being a part of the Gotham FC family,” said Pickett.
“First, I want to say a special thanks to my teammates for embracing, supporting, and believing in me. I’m forever appreciative of them and lucky to have learned from these special players,” she continued. “I also want to thank Yael Averbuch West, the coaching staff, the medical team, and the entire soccer operations team for supporting me in my playing career and for the way this move was handled by the club.
“Thank you to the fans for welcoming me and I wish nothing but continued success for Gotham FC.”
Acquired by Gotham FC in a trade with the Kansas City Current on Aug. 22, 2022, Pickett made three appearances with the club this season and six at the end of the 2022 regular season. She was selected 15th overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft.
“Victoria was part of a very deep group of midfielders that have really pushed each other to be the best this season,” said Gotham FC GM and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West. “We wish Victoria the best in North Carolina and thank her for her talents and professionalism during her time with our club.”
