Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announce today that they have signed defenseman Nikita Zadorov to a one-year, $3,750,000 contract.
Zadorov, a native of Moscow, Russia is a veteran of 411 NHL games split between Buffalo, Colorado, and Chicago. Zadorov has a total of 23 goals and 83 points in his NHL career along with 33 games of NHL playoffs experience where he’s totaled four goals and four assists. The 26-year-old blue-liner led the 2021 IIHF World Championships in plus/minus at +11 as a member of Team Russia while notching three assists in eight games. Zadorov, known for his physical play, led the NHL in hits with 278 during the 2017-18 NHL season. The former first round, 16th overall pick of the 2013 NHL Draft was acquired by the Flames via trade on July 28, 2021 for a 2022 third round pick.
