LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to terms with 19 international amateur free agents, including the No. 14 prospect in the 2023-2024 international class, shortstop Emil Morales. In total, the Dodgers signed seven pitchers, four catchers, five infielders and three outfielders to open the 2024 signing period.
Morales, 17, is the No. 14 rated prospect by MLB.com and the eighth-ranked infielder in the 2024 class. He was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain and he trained in the Dominican Republic at MLB’s Trainer Partnership Program. It is the third straight season the Dodgers’ top-rated prospect is from the Dominican Republic, joining Samuel Muñoz and Joendry Vargas, who were their top signings in the 2022 and 2023 international classes. The 6-foot, 3-inch, right-handed hitter gets touted for his advanced baseball IQ, managing the strike zone and his power.
The Dodgers bolster another strong class, which includes players from four different counties.
