Diamondback make several roster moves

The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves:

Selected OF Dominic Canzone [can-ZONE] (No. 6) from Triple-A Reno.

  • Marks his first Major League call-up.
  • Named the D-backs’ and Pacific Coast League Minor League Player and of the Month for June after hitting .430 (34-for-79)/1.238 OPS with 9 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, 25 RBI, 9 walks, 1 stolen base and 18 runs scored in 21 games with the Aces.
  • The D-backs’ No. 19-rated prospect (MLB Pipeline) batted .354 (91-for-257)/1.065 OPS with 18 doubles, 3 triples, 16 home runs, 71 RBI, 39 walks and only 40 strikeouts in 71 games with the Aces.
  • At the time of his promotion, ranks among Pacific Coast League leaders in OPS (1st), SLG (1st, .634), average (2nd), RBI (3rd), total bases (4th, 163), runs (T-4th, 61), hits (5th), extra-base hits (T-5th, 37), OBP (7th, .431) and home runs (T-7th).
  • Over 4 Minor League seasons (since 2019), is hitting .310 (352-for-1137)/.933 OPS with 78 doubles, 11 triples, 60 homers, 250 RBI, 117 walks, 223 strikeouts and 41 stolen bases.
  • Signed as the D-backs’ eighth-round selection in the 2019 Draft out of Ohio State University.

Optioned OF Dominic Fletcher to Reno.

Placed RHP Drey Jameson on the 15-day injured list (right elbow inflammation).

Recalled RHP Justin Martinez from Reno.

The D-backs’ 40-man roster remains at 40.
