DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have acquired Minor League right-handed pitcher Connor Van Scoyoc via trade with the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for infielder Mike Moustakas.
Van Scoyoc, 23, has gone 4-3 with a 2.76 ERA (62.0 IP, 19 ER), 25 walks and 56 strikeouts in 11 starts with High-A Tri-City this season … originally selected by Los Angeles-AL in the 11th round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Van Scoyoc has gone 17-13 with a 4.40 ERA (264.0 IP, 129 ER), 124 walks and 297 strikeouts in 58 career Minor League appearances, 46 starts.
Moustakas, 34, has hit .270 (31-for-115) with seven doubles, four home runs and 17 RBI in 47 games with the Rockies after signing a Minor League contract with the club on March 5 … in parts of 13 Major League seasons with Kansas City (2011-18), Milwaukee (2018-19), Cincinnati (2020-22) and Colorado (2023), the Los Angeles, Calif., native has hit .248 (1196-for-4823) with 266 doubles, six triples, 207 home runs and 652 RBI in 1,362 career games.
