DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have acquired Minor League left-handed pitcher Luis Peralta from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for left-handed pitcher Jalen Beeks.

Peralta, 23, has gone 4-0 with five saves, a 0.91 ERA (39.2 IP, 4 ER), 18 walks and 64 strikeouts in 26 relief appearances between High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona … his 41% strikeout percentage ranks eighth among all Minor League pitchers (min. 30 IP) … has posted a 1.86 ERA (9.2 IP, 2 ER) with two saves, three walks and 14 strikeouts in seven appearances with Altoona since being promoted on June 25 … has gone 9-19 with eight saves, a 4.20 ERA (270.0 IP, 126 ER), 157 walks and 360 strikeouts in 110 Minor League appearances (44 starts) across six professional seasons … originally signed by Pittsburgh as a non-drafted international free agent on July 3, 2017 … the native of Moca, Dominican Republic is the brother of Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta … ranked by Baseball America has the 24th-best prospect in the Pirates system.

Beeks, 31, was acquired off waivers by Colorado from the Tampa Bay Rays on Nov. 6, 2023 … has gone 6-4 with a career-high nine saves and a 4.74 ERA (49.1 IP, 26 ER) in a career-high 45 appearances with Colorado in 2024 … in 176 career appearances across six Major League seasons with Boston (2018), Tampa Bay (2018-2020, 2022-23) and Colorado (2024) has gone 22-15 with 14 saves and a 4.43 ERA (327.0 IP, 161 ER) … originally selected by Boston in the 12th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Arkansas.
