Will Wilson

Wilson, 26, has gotten off to a hot start this season, posting a .324 batting average (22-for-68) with 6 home runs, 18 RBI and a 1.065 OPS through 18 games for Triple-A Columbus. His 6 home runs are tied for the International League lead, while his 18 RBI rank T2nd and his 1.065 OPS ranks 3rd. Organizationally, he leads the system in homers and RBI and is 2nd on OPS. The Kings Mountain, NC native has homered in 3 of his last 4 games and recorded multiple hits in 3 of his last 6 games for the Clippers.

The NC State product, who is making his MLB debut, was originally selected in the 1st round (15th overall) of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels before being traded to San Francisco for Zack Cozart on December 10, 2019. Cleveland acquired Wilson in the Minor League portion of the MLB Rule 5 Draft this past offseason. In his 6-year professional career (excluding 2020), Wilson has amassed a .236 batting average (411-for-1745) with 62 home runs, 233 RBI and a .710 OPS. He has appeared across the diamond, making 274 starts at shortstop, 94 starts at second base and 61 starts at third base.
