BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox have announced the reinstatement of right-handed pitcher Brayan Bello from the 15-Day Injured List. To accommodate the move, the team has optioned right-handed pitcher Zack Kelly to Triple-A Worcester following their game against the Chicago White Sox yesterday.

Brayan Bello’s Return

Bello, 25, is set to start tonight against the Seattle Mariners. During his rehab assignment, he made four starts—three with Triple-A Worcester and one with Double-A Portland—pitching 14.0 innings with 21 strikeouts and four walks. Originally signed as an international free agent by Boston on July 2, 2017, the Dominican Republic native has compiled a 28-27 record with a 4.42 ERA (185 ER/376.2 IP) and 340 strikeouts across 71 career games (69 starts), all with the Red Sox from 2022 to 2024.

Zack Kelly Update

Kelly, 30, has made seven appearances this season, posting a 9.00 ERA (10 ER/10.0 IP) with 11 strikeouts. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Oakland Athletics in 2017, the Virginia native holds a 4.52 ERA (45 ER/89.2 IP) with 89 strikeouts across 77 career games (three starts), all with Boston from 2022 to 2025.
