CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have announced the acquisition of infielder Jake Amaya off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room for Amaya on the 40-man roster, the White Sox have designated outfielder Zach DeLoach for assignment.

Amaya, 26, was designated for assignment by Baltimore on January 27 after being claimed off waivers from the White Sox on January 16. He appeared in 24 games between the White Sox and the Houston Astros last season, recording a .176 batting average (12-for-68) with one double and three RBIs.
DeLoach, also 26, played his first season in the major leagues with the White Sox in 2024, batting .209 (14-for-67) with five doubles, one home run, and five RBIs over 22 games.
Following the waiver claim, the White Sox 40-man roster remains at full capacity.
