• The Bowling Green football celebrated the university’s 100th Homecoming Celebration with a thrilling 34-31 overtime victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd. Mat MacDonald threw for 282 yards and 4 TD’s in the win and became the first Falcon since Matt Johnson in 2015 to throw 4+ touchdowns in back-to-back games.
• Samson Evans’ career night on the ground led the Eastern Michigan University football team to a 30-21 victory over Arizona State University on Saturday, Sept 17. Evans, who ran for 258 yards on 36 carries, recorded his first career 100-yard game while helping the Eagles (2-1, 0-0 MAC) to their first all-time win against a member the Pac-12 Conference. Evans was named the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week following his performance.
• For handling Arizona State its first home non-conference loss since 2017 and becoming the first Mid-American Conference team to beat a Pac-12 Conference team in the regular season, Eastern Michigan earned the Cheez-It Bowl Team of the Week honor for the games of the weekend of Sept. 17.
