2022 SEC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
HENDON HOOKER, QB, TENNESSEE
• Hooker accounted for 352 yards of total offense and two touchdowns to lead No. 24 Tennessee to a 34-27 non-conference overtime win at No. 17 Pitt on Saturday. It was the Vols’ first victory over a top-20 non-conference team on the road since it topped No. 6 Miami, 10-6, on Nov. 8, 2003.
• He was 27-of-42 for 325 yards and two scores through the air, rallying the Vols from a 10-0 deficit. In the process, Hooker broke the school record for consecutive attempts without an interception, which now stands at 167 straight attempts without a pick.
• That mark broke Jarrett Guarantano’s record of 166. Hooker also moved into sole possession of second place in UT consecutive games with a touchdown pass at 14.
• Hooker came up clutch in overtime, stepping up in the pocket and firing the game-winning, 28-yard touchdown pass to Cedric Tillman.

• Trailing 16-7 late in the second quarter, he made a spectacular onehanded interception and returned it to the Florida six-yard line, setting up a UK touchdown that swung the momentum.
• From that point, UK limited Florida to no points, five first downs and 91 total yards in the second half; it was the first time UF had been shut out in the second half since 2017.
