Canadiens’ Pezzetta Suspended Two Games for Illegal Check to the Head

NEW YORK – Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie during NHL Game No. 1198 in Montreal on Saturday, April 16, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:42 of the third period. Pezzetta was assessed a minor penalty for illegal check to the head.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Pezzetta will forfeit $7,500.00. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
