Boston Red Sox Add RHP Adam Ottavino to 2025 Spring Training Roster as Non-Roster Invitee

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox have added right-handed pitcher Adam Ottavino to their 2025 Spring Training roster as a non-roster invitee. He will be wearing number 00.

Adam Ottavino, RHP: Ottavino, 39, posted a 4.34 ERA (27 ER/56.0 IP) with 70 strikeouts in 60 games for the New York Mets in 2024. The right-hander has pitched in at least 60 games in each of the last seven 162-game seasons (2017-19, 2021-24), tying for second in the Majors with 496 appearances during that span. He led the team with 69 appearances for the Red Sox in 2021, recording 11 saves and 22 holds with a 4.21 ERA (29 ER/62.0 IP), and posted a 2.25 ERA (1 ER/4.0 IP) in five Postseason appearances. Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round (No. 30 overall) of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, the New York native owns a 3.49 ERA (288 ER/743.0 IP) with 859 strikeouts in 724 career Major League games with the Cardinals (2010), Colorado Rockies (2012-18), New York Yankees (2019-20), Red Sox (2021), and Mets (2022-24). He played for Northeastern University from 2004-06 and twice faced the Red Sox in their annual Spring Training exhibition against the Huskies (2004, 2006).
