WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics have reached an agreement with outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown on a one-year contract for the 2025 season, thus avoiding arbitration.
Brown, 32, batted .231 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs in 124 games last year, marking his sixth season in the majors. After hitting .189 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in 63 games, he was outrighted to Las Vegas on June 18. Upon his return to Oakland on July 11, he improved his performance, batting .271 with nine home runs and 29 RBIs over the final 61 games. The left-handed hitter started 39 games in left field, 30 at first base, 24 in right field, and one as a designated hitter.
Throughout his career, Brown has maintained a .228 batting average with 73 home runs and 230 RBIs in 530 games, all with the A’s. His games played are the most by any Athletics player over the past seven years.
