OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher James Kaprielian from the 10-day injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Adam Oller to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.
Kaprielian is scheduled to make his first start of the season today after beginning the year on the 10-day IL with an inflamed right AC joint. He did not pitch during the spring and went 1-1 with a 7.24 ERA on a three-start rehab assignment with Low-A Stockton and Triple-A Las Vegas. The 28-year-old right-hander was 8-5 with a 4.07 ERA and .233 opponents batting average in 24 games, including 21 starts, in his rookie campaign with the A’s last year.
Oller was on the A’s Opening Day roster and was 0-2 with an 11.17 ERA and .357 opponents batting average in three starts in his Major League debut. He walked eight and struck out eight in 9.2 innings.
