OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled right-handed pitcher Adrián Martínez from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned right-handed pitcher Dany Jiménez to Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Martínez joins the A’s for the second time this year and is 0-0 with a 5.70 ERA and .751 opponents OPS in 11 relief appearances.  He was on the A’s Opening Day roster and spent time on the injured list from April 23 to May 14 with a strained right elbow before he was optioned to Las Vegas on May 27.  The 26-year-old right-hander is 0-7 with an 8.45 ERA and 1.070 OPS in 13 games, including 12 starts, with the Aviators. Martínez tossed 4.1 innings or fewer in all 12 of his starts at Triple-A and logged two or more innings in seven of his 11 relief appearances with the A’s.

Jiménez was reinstated from the injured list on Saturday and took the loss in his only appearance since his return last night against Texas when he allowed two runs in the eighth inning.  He had a 7.04 ERA in eight relief appearances overall with Oakland as he was on the injured list from April 17 to August 4 with a strained right shoulder.  Jiménez compiled a 20.77 ERA on a five-game rehab assignment with Las Vegas.
