OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled left-handed pitcher Richard Lovelady from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris to Las Vegas, the club announced today.
Lovelady was claimed off waivers from Atlanta on Thursday after pitching in four games for Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves organization. He allowed four runs in 5.0 innings while striking out four and walking two batters with the Stripers. The 27-year-old left-handed pitcher was originally selected by Kansas City in the 10th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. He made his Major League debut in 2019 with Kansas City and is 2-3 with a 5.62 ERA in 46 career games in parts of three seasons with the Royals (2019-21). Lovelady was traded by the Royals to the Braves for cash considerations on March 30, 2023.
Harris was recalled from Las Vegas yesterday and made his Major League debut last night against the Mets, allowing six runs on one hit, five walks and a hit batter in 0.1 innings. He is also 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in two starts with Las Vegas, where he allowed three hits and nine walks in 4.1 innings.
