LHP Hogan Harris Optioned to Las Vegas, INF Tyler Wade Designated for Assignment

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled infielder Jonah Bride and selected right-handed pitcher Zach Neal from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. The A’s also optioned left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris to Las Vegas and designated infielder Tyler Wade for assignment.

Bride joins the A’s for the third time this year and is hitting .189 with a double, four RBI and a .520 OPS in 22 games with Oakland. He played in one game during his most recent stint from July 20-23, going 0-for-2 against Houston on July 21. The 27-year-old right-handed hitter went 4-for-16 (.250) with eight runs scored, two home runs, three RBI and 10 walks in six games with Las Vegas following his option on July 24 and is batting .311 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, a .442 on-base percentage and 1.019 OPS in 63 games overall at Triple-A. Bride has made 17 of his 18 starts with the A’s and 49 of his 60 starts with the Aviators at third base.

Neal reports to Oakland for the second time this year after allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out three in 3.1 innings in two games during his first stint from May 11-14.  He has logged three or more innings in each of his 12 appearances with Las Vegas since he was optioned on May 15 and outrighted on May 20. The 34-year-old right-hander started in each of his last five outings at Triple-A, going 2-1 with a 5.47 ERA. Neal is 4-1 with a 5.40 ERA and .873 opponents OPS in 15 games, including nine starts, overall with the Aviators.

Harris is 2-6 with a 6.98 ERA and .828 opponents OPS in 13 games, including six starts, over two stints with the A’s in his Major League debut. He was recalled most recently on May 27 and, after going 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA over his first four games, is 0-6 with an 8.27 ERA over his last eight contests. Harris is also 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA and .699 OPS in eight starts with Las Vegas.

Wade was selected from Las Vegas on Tuesday for his third stint with the A’s this year but did not appear in a game. He is batting .255 with a double, triple and two RBI in 26 games with Oakland. Wade is also hitting .251 with two home runs, 20 RBI and a .674 OPS in 52 games with the Aviators.
