A’s Announce 22 Non-Roster Invitees

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s announced 22 non-roster invitees to Spring Training today. The list includes 13 players who were in the A’s organization last year and nine players signed to minor league contracts this offseason.

The list of internal invitees is headlined by the A’s first round selection from the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and number one prospect according to MLB.com, INF Jacob Wilson, who hit .333 with a home run and 13 RBI in 26 games in his professional debut with the A’s ACL affiliate and High-A Lansing. The A’s fourth-ranked prospect, C Daniel Susac (.300, 8 HR, 62 RBI with Lansing and Double-A Midland), and seventh-ranked prospect, INF Max Muncy (.275, 10 HR, 62 RBI with Lansing and Midland), will also be in camp in addition to two players acquired in trades. LHP Easton Lucas posted an 8.10 ERA in six September relief appearances with the A’s after being acquired from Baltimore for Shintaro Fujinami on July 19, and RHP Billy Sullivan was 8-2 with a 5.34 ERA in 48 relief appearances for Triple-A Las Vegas after being acquired from Philadelphia in the Cristian Pache deal prior to the start of the season.

Rounding out the list of internal invites are INF Cooper Bowman (.261, 8 HR, 40 RBI, 38 SB with the ACL A’s and Midland), RHP Stevie Emanuels (2-0, 2.04 ERA in 24 relief appearances with the ACL A’s, Lansing and Midland), INF Brett Harris (.279, 9 HR, 62 RBI, .807 OPS with Midland and Las Vegas), C Kyle McCann (.270, 17 HR, 57 RBI, .825 OPS with Las Vegas), RHP Jack Perkins (4-3, 4.10 ERA in 22 games, 20 starts, with Lansing and Midland), C Yohel Pozo (.306 with 18 HR, 81 RBI, .861 OPS with Las Vegas), OF Max Schuemann (.276, 10 HR, 51 RBI, 23 SB, .832 OPS with Midland and Las Vegas) and RHP Shohei Tomioka (2-1, 3.90 ERA in 37 relief appearances with Midland and Las Vegas)

The remaining nine players were all signed to minor league deals following the 2023 season, including three players with Major League experience. RHP Vinny Nitoli combined to go 1-2 with a 4.64 ERA in 35 games with Triple-A Iowa and Triple-A Syracuse last year, but has also pitched in six games in the majors with the Mariners, Phillies and Mets over the last three years. OF Daz Cameron spent the entire 2023 season at Triple-A Norfolk in the Baltimore organization, batting .268 with 16 home runs and 67 RBI in 110 games, but hit .201 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 73 games in three seasons with Detroit from 2020-22. OF Hoy Jun Park batted .262 with six home runs and 52 RBI in 101 games with Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves farm system in 2023 but has a .201 average with five home runs and 20 RBI in 68 games with the Yankees (2021) and Pirates (2021-22).

The list also includes INF Armando Alvarez (.313, 18 HR, 58 RBI, .952 OPS with ACL Giants and Triple-A Sacramento), RHP Tyler Ferguson (5-2, 5.49 ERA in 51 games with Triple-A Reno), INF Drew Lugbauer (.261, 25 HR, 73 RBI, .898 OPS with Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett), LHP Jack O’Loughlin (6-10, 3.99 ERA in 27 games, 25 starts, with High-A West Michigan and Triple-A Toledo), LHP Domingo Robles (9-9, 3.91 ERA in 26 games, 24 starts with Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett) and OF Jeisson Rosario (.218, 10 HR, 47 RBI with Double-A Somerset).

Pitchers and catchers report to Mesa on Wed., Feb. 14, and the first full squad workout is scheduled for Mon., Feb. 19.
