BOSTON, MA – The Boston Fleet have selected standout defender Haley Winn from Clarkson University with the second overall pick in the first round of the 2025 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Draft presented by Upper Deck. The selection was made during live draft proceedings at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Ottawa, Ontario.
Winn, 21, is a native of Rochester, New York, and closed out an exceptional collegiate career as one of the top blueliners in the nation. In 2024–25, she led the Golden Knights in scoring and ranked second nationally among defenders with 46 points (14 goals, 32 assists) across 38 games. A finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, Winn earned First Team All-American honors and was named both ECAC Player and Defender of the Year.
Over four seasons at Clarkson, Winn totaled 131 points (37 goals, 94 assists) in 151 games. On the international stage, she recently claimed her second gold medal with Team USA at the IIHF Women’s World Championship—her third consecutive tournament appearance—adding to her silver from 2024.
