New York Sirens acquire Forward Kristin O’Neill in trade with Montreal

OTTAWA, ON – The New York Sirens have acquired forward Kristin O’Neill and the 28th overall selection in the 2025 PWHL Draft from the Montréal Victoire in exchange for forward Abby Roque. The deal marks New York’s second trade during the ongoing Draft, currently being held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Ottawa.

O’Neill, 27, is a native of Oakville, Ontario and a standout alumna of Cornell University, where she captained the Big Red and earned recognition for her speed, two-way play, and leadership. Selected 7th overall in the 2023 Inaugural PWHL Draft, the 5’4” forward has appeared in 53 games over two seasons with Montréal, contributing five goals and nine assists.

Roque, 28, departs New York after two seasons, having played in 54 games for the Sirens. She tallied 12 goals and 18 assists, for a total of 30 points, anchoring the club’s top-six forward group and serving as a key playmaker since the franchise’s debut.
