Gilberto Celestino recalled from Triple-A St. Paul
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Kyle Garlick on the 10-day Injured List with a sports hernia.
Garlick has played in 36 games this season, hitting .232 (23-for-99) with eight doubles, five home runs, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored, six walks and a .745 OPS.
To replace Garlick on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Gilberto Celestino from Triple-A St. Paul. The 22-year-old made his major league debut on June 2 in Baltimore. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game with the New York Yankees and looking to record his first major league hit.
