ROAD WARRIORS
The Kings enter Vegas fresh off a commanding 5-0 shutout victory over the Flyers in Philadelphia on Saturday night, which extended their road winning streak to six games (6-0-0). It is the first time in franchise history the team has won their first six road games to start a season and remain the only unbeaten team on the road in the 2023-24 campaign. Only 14 teams in total have started a season 6-0-0 on the road and only nine have done so in the last 20 years:

The Kings have scored 47 goals through their first 11 games of the season for the seventh time in franchise history and the first since 1993-94 (47). Of the Kings’ 47 goals, 29 have been scored in the Kings’ first six road games this season, a feat previously accomplished only two other times in franchise history with the last done so in 1981-82 (29G). Only six other teams have scored as many goals in their first six road games of a season since the 1995-96 season:

AGAINST THE KINGS
The Vegas Golden Knights will face the Los Angeles Kings for the second time this season tonight at T-Mobile Arena. The last time these teams met, Vegas came back from a 2-0 deficit to win in a shootout. Michael Amadio got Vegas on the board in the second period just 33 seconds after the Kings scored their second of the night. On a breakaway, William Carrier netted his first goal of the season to bring the score even at 2-2 to enter the break. Vegas captain Mark Stone gave the Golden Knights their first lead of the game with a goal on the power play during the third period. With an extra attacker on the ice, Los Angeles’ Drew Doughty scored at the 18:57 mark to send the contest into overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, Jack Eichel scored his second shootout goal of the season and Logan Thompson stopped all three shots to put Vegas on top. Last season, Vegas and Los Angeles split the regular season series 2-2-0 and the Kings narrowly outscored the Golden Knights, 12-14. Vegas leads the all-time series, 16-11-3 through 30 meetings, and holds a 7-5-2 advantage at home.
THE MORE, THE MERRIER
Through the first 13 games of the 2023-24 season, Vegas has outscored its opponents 49-28. Vegas’ 49 goals have come from 18 different players, and the club has nine skaters with three or more goals this season. 23 Golden Knights have found the scoresheet this season including goaltender Logan Thompson who had his first-career assist on Nov. 2 against Winnipeg.
STREAKING
The Golden Knights’ historic point streak came to an end on Sunday night after the club lost in regulation against the Ducks for the first time this season. Vegas was the 10th team in NHL history to post a season-opening point streak of at least 12 games and the first in a decade since the 2012-13 Blackhawks (24 GP). The Golden Knights’ season-opening point streak was the longest by a reigning Stanley Cup champion in NHL history. Ivan Barbashev and Jack Eichel’s goals on Sunday night were the 10th and 11th straight goals scored by the Golden Knights. The scoring streak dated back to the club’s fourth goal against Winnipeg on Nov. 2. Vegas’ goal streak was the second longest in franchise history following a four-game span from Nov. 21-27, 2018 (12).
