BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today placed right-handed pitcher Chris Martin on the 15-Day Injured List with a viral infection. To fill Martin’s spot on the active roster, the club recalled right-handed pitcher Nick Robertson from Triple-A Worcester.

Signed by Boston as a free agent on December 8, 2022, the Texas native owns a 3.36 ERA (113 ER/302.1 IP) in 324 career games with the Colorado Rockies (2014), New York Yankees (2015), Texas Rangers (2018-19), Atlanta Braves (2019-21), Chicago Cubs (2022), Los Angeles Dodgers (2022), and Red Sox (2023).

Robertson, 25, has allowed eight runs in 11.0 innings over eight games with the Red Sox since he was acquired from the Dodgers on July 25. The right-hander also made nine appearances with the Dodgers this season, his Major League debut, posting a 6.10 ERA (7 ER/10.1 IP) with 13 strikeouts. Selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the Virginia native has recorded a 3.16 ERA (15 ER/42.2 IP) and .205 opponent batting average (33-for-161) with 58 strikeouts in 42 Triple-A games for Oklahoma City and Worcester.
