CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Deivi (“DAY-vee”) García and catcher Carlos Pérez from Class AAA Charlotte and optioned outfielder Oscar Colás and right-hander Edgar Navarro to Charlotte.
García has made seven relief appearances with Charlotte since being claimed off waivers from the Yankees on August 10. He is 3-3 with a 5.07 ERA (31 ER/55.0 IP) and 62 strikeouts in 35 games (one start) between the Knights and Class AAA Scranton-Wilkes/Barre this season. García also made two relief appearances with the Yankees, posting a 1.59 ERA (1 ER/5.2 IP).
García, who will wear uniform No. 64, is 3-4 with a 4.84 ERA (26 ER/48.1 IP) and 48 strikeouts in 10 appearances (eight starts) over parts of three major-league seasons (2020-21, ’23) with the Yankees.
Pérez is hitting .240/.295/.408 (69-287) with 12 doubles, 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 77 games with Charlotte in 2023. He has gone 7-29 (.241) with two RBI in 18 games over three stints with Chicago.
Colás is hitting .216 (53-245) with nine doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI and 32 runs scored in 75 games with the White Sox.
Navarro is 0-0 with a 7.27 ERA (7 ER/8.2 IP) and nine strikeouts in eight relief appearances with Chicago in 2023.
