The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves:
Selected INF Seth Beer (No. 28) from Triple-A Reno.
Will be making his Major League debut.
Currently ranked as the D-backs’ No. 12 prospect by MLB.com and No. 17 by Baseball America.
Hit .287 (104-for-362)/.909 OPS with 33 doubles, 16 home runs, 59 RBI and 73 runs scored in 100 games with Reno this season.
At the time of his promotion, ranked among all Triple-A players in runs scored (1st), extra-base hits (T-1st, 49), doubles (2nd), total bases (8th, 185) and on-base percentage (9th, .398)…he also led all Minor League players with 30 HBP.
Spent the entire 2020 season at the D-backs’ Alternate Training Site.
Acquired from the Houston Astros on July 31, 2019, along with INF/OF Josh Rojas, RHP J.B. Bukauskas and RHP Corbin Martin for RHP Zack Greinke and cash considerations.
Optioned INF Drew Ellis to Reno on Thursday.
The D-backs’ 40-man roster is now at 40.
