ELEVENTH HEAVEN?: The Dodgers won their season-high 10th consecutive game last night, beating the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-1 and winning their fifth straight series. Los Angeles is now 14-1 in the month of August and are a Major League best 22-8 (.733) in the second half of the season. This evening, the Boys in Blue can win their 11th straight contest for the first time since winning 12 in-a-row from July 31-Aug. 13, 2022, as they continue their 10-game homestand (6-0) and play the finale of a three-game set with the first-place Milwaukee Brewers at 7:10 p.m. Tomorrow night, the Dodgers will welcome in the Miami Marlins for three games this weekend (Aug. 18-20). The Dodgers hold a season high 10.0-game lead over the San Francisco Giants in the National League West following their win last night and the Giants’ loss to Tampa Bay. The Dodgers improved to 40-20 (.667) at home this season, which is tied with Atlanta for the best home mark in the National League. Los Angeles has won eight games in-a-row at Chavez Ravine. Overall, the Dodgers own the second-best record in baseball (.613), trailing just the Braves (.650). The Dodgers took two of three in Milwaukee from May 8-10 and have won 11 of their last 17 games vs. the Brew Crew after clinching the season series last night. Los Angeles is 18-14 vs. the NL Central this season. Tonight is Korean Heritage Night and those that purchased their seats through a special ticket pack will receive an exclusive Korean Heritage Night jersey.

THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT: The Dodgers won their 10th consecutive game, cruising to a 7-1 victory over the Brewers thanks to a stellar night from first three hitters in the lineup as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith combined to go 8-for-13 with five runs scored and two RBI. In addition to those three, Miguel Rojas (3) and Chris Taylor (13) each hit solo homers for Los Angeles, whose 188 homers rank second in the Major Leagues. On the mound, Clayton Kershaw ran his winning streak to five games going back to June 2 (5.0 IP, 1 R, 3 H2 K), which is a Dodger season high. Kershaw also notched win No. 208, leaving him one shy of Don Drysdale for second on the franchise win list.

LANCE CIRCUMSTANCE: Right-hander Lance Lynn will take the mound for his fourth start with the club tonight and thus far the Texas native is 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA (4 ER/18.0 IP), 22 strikeouts and a 0.94 WHIP while with the Dodgers. In his career vs. Milwaukee, Lynn id 11-3 with a 2.16 ERA (26 ER/108.1 IP) and 117 strikeouts in 21 games (17 starts). Dodger starters have posted a 2.14 ERA (19 ER/80.0 IP) this month, which ranks second in baseball, trailing only the Texas Rangers (2.08). In August, the starters’ WHIP in 0.95, which is the best in baseball. The Dodger bullpen fired 4.0 scoreless and hitless innings last night and have allowed just one run in their last 23.0 frames, dating back to Aug. 9. This month, the ‘pen has allowed a .581 OPS (2nd, NL) while posting a 2.67 ERA (3rd, NL). Overall, the Dodger pitching staff leads the National League with a 2.35 ERA (35 ER/134.0 IP) this month.

THE MAN: All-Star Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with a walk and a Dodger season-high tying four runs scored last night and is now slashing .374/.478/.735 with 12 homers, 34 RBI, 41 runs scored and 29 walks in his last 38 games since June 28. Betts ranks third in the NL in home runs with 31 while ranking third in slugging (.580), fourth in OPS (.973), third in runs (98) and fifth in walks (70). Betts is hitting .404 (23-for-57) in the month of August. Since May 1, the 2018 American League MVP is hitting .311 (106-for-341) with 27 homers, 70 RBI and a 1.031 OPS. During that span, he is tied for third in the Majors in homers, tied for second in runs (81), third in OPS, tied for fourth RBI and tied for third in extra-base hits (52). Betts is hitting .366 (34-for-93) with RISP, which ranks fourth in the Major Leagues. The Dodgers are 35-19 when Betts drives in a run and 19-8 when he hits a home runs this season.

HELPING MAUI: Los Angeles professional sports organizations have teamed up to donate $450,000 to help people affected by the Hawaii wildfires. The Angels, Angel City FC, Chargers, Clippers, Dodgers, Anaheim Ducks, LA Galaxy, LAFC, Kings, Lakers, Rams and Sparks have all come together to support the American Red Cross relief
efforts for those in need. Fans interested in donating to American Red Cross to support their Hawaii Fire Relief efforts can go to www.redcross.org.

SUPERMAN: Dodger first baseman Freddie Freeman went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored last night, snapping an 0-for-14 skid in the process. Freeman is slashing .413/.480/.706 with 12 doubles, six homers and 20 RBI in his last 27 games since July 17. Freeman was the first player in Dodger history with at least 20 homers and 35 doubles before the end of July and ranks second in the Majors with 102 runs scored, trailing only Ronald Acuña Jr. (109). He also leads the Majors with 44 doubles is tied for first with 69 extra-base hits. Freeman ranks third in hits (160) and second in average. His career best in runs scored is 120, established in 2021. The All-Star is one of four players in the Majors with a .300+ batting average, .400+ on-base percentage and a .500+ slugging percentage, along with Yandy Diaz, Ronald Acuña Jr and Shohei Ohtani.

A LOOK BACK: On this date in 1992, Dodger right-hander Kevin Gross tossed the only no-hitter of his career and the 18th no-no in franchise history in a 2-0 victory over the Giants at Dodger Stadium. Gross needed just 99 pitches to accomplish the feat, as he walked two, hit a batter and struck out six in the victory.
