WHITE SOX AT A GLANCE
The Chicago White Sox have won fi ve of their last nine games as they continue a fi ve-game, six-game trip tonight against the crosstown-rival Cubs at Wrigley Field.
RHP Mike Clevinger, who is 3-2 with a 2.17 ERA (9 ER/37.1 IP) over his last seven starts dating to 5/17, is scheduled to start for the White Sox.

LAST NIGHT’S RECAP
Luis Robert Jr. hit a go-ahead, solo home run off Julian Merryweather in the seventh inning, and four relievers combined for 5.0 scoreless IP as the White Sox extended their winning streak at Wrigley Field to six games with a 5-3 victory over the Cubs.
Starter Touki Toussaint posted a ND, allowing three runs on three hits with fi ve walks and four strikeouts over 4.0 IP.
Tanner Banks pitched a 1-2-3 fifth to strand an inherited runner, Lane Ramsey pitched a scoreless sixth for his first MLB win, Aaron Bummer went 1.1 IP for his ninth hold, and rookie Gregory Santos retired all fi ve batters faced with three strikeouts to earn his fourth save.

CUBS AIM TO REBOUND: The Chicago Cubs tonight play the final contest of a brief two-game set against the Chicago White Sox after last evening dropping the series opener, 5-3 … the Cubs have dropped their last six home games against the White Sox dating to the 2021 campaign – four of those setbacks have been by two or fewer runs.
The Cubs have dropped consecutive games for the first time since July 30 at St. Louis and July 31 vs. Cincinnati … the team looks to avoid its first three-game skid since July 1-3.
ASSAD ON THE BUMP: Cubs righthander Javier Assad, starting tonight, has posted a 2-0 record with a 1.29 ERA (5 ER/35.0 IP) in his last 12 games (two starts) dating to June 16 … he’s walked 13, struck out 29, allowed two homers (in 135 batters faced) and pitched to a 0.97 WHIP in this span with a .175 opponent average (21-for-120).
