Send right-handed pitcher Justin Jarvis to the Mets

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers acquired outfielder/first baseman Mark Canha (CAN-uh) and cash from the New York Mets today in exchange for right-handed pitcher Justin Jarvis. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.

“Mark brings a productive veteran bat and versatility to the roster as he can play all three outfield spots and first base,” said Arnold. “He has valuable postseason experience, and we look forward to him being a major contributor for us down the stretch.”

Canha, 34, has a club option for 2024. He is a career .248 hitter with 108 HR and 384 RBI in 874 games with Oakland (2015-21) and New York-NL (2022-23), playing in the postseason four times (2018-20 and 2022). He owns a career .348 OBP/.422 SLG/.770 OPS.
