The Phillies recalled right-handed pitcher Noah Song from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the 60-day injured list, and designated him for assignment.
Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.
Song, 26, began the season on the 15-day injured list with a low back strain and was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 26. In total, the California native made eight rehab appearances for single-A Clearwater, double-A Reading and triple-A Lehigh Valley and combined to go 1-0 with a 7.36 ERA (9 ER, 11.0 IP), 12 hits, 11 walks and 16 strikeouts.
Originally a fourth-round selection of the Boston Red Sox in the 2019 MLB Draft, the Phillies selected Song in the Rule 5 draft on Dec. 7, 2022.
