Oliver Ortega optioned to Triple-A St. Paul
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Winder from Triple-A St. Paul.
Winder, 26, went 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA (7.1 IP, 6 ER), four walks and 12 strikeouts in five appearances for the Saints since July 5. He has gone 1-0 with a 4.76 ERA (5.2 IP, 3 ER), three walks and seven strikeouts in four games across three prior stints with the Twins this season.
To make room for Winder on the 26-man roster, the Twins optioned right-handed pitcher Oliver Ortega to the Saints last night. Ortega went 0-1 with one hold, a 4.50 ERA (14.0 IP, 7 ER), four walks and 14 strikeouts in nine appearances for Minnesota this season.
