BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today continued their participation in Major League Baseball’s 2023 First-Year Player Draft with ten additional selections in rounds 3-10.
Over the first two days of the draft, Boston has selected four infielders, four right-handed pitchers, two left-handed pitchers, one outfielder, and one catcher.
With their first pick today, 83rd overall, the Red Sox selected shortstop Antonio Anderson out of North Atlanta High School (GA), who was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 68 prospect available in this year’s draft. The 18-year-old switch hitter was named Georgia’s 2023 Region 4-6A Player of the Year, batting .438 (46-for-105) with 10 doubles, one triple, six home runs, and 51 RBI in 34 games during his senior season. He was selected to Perfect Game’s 2022 All-American Classic, where he played against Boston’s second-round selection Nazzan Zanetello.
