- Today the Reds reinstated from the 15-day injured list RHP Ben Lively (#59) and designated for assignment RHP Michael Mariot.

- Is Game 3 (1-1) of a 3-game series vs Michael Vassallo’s Brewers and Game 7 (5-1) of the Reds’ last road trip of the season’s first half (4-0 at Wsh).

BIG ROAD MACHINE

SERIES NOTES
- For the second time in 3 seasons, the Reds and Brewers are meeting in the series on each side of the All-Star Game…in 2021, the Reds went 3-1 at Mil to end the first half and were swept in the 3-game home series after the break…in that 2021 series, the Reds faced the same opponent in 7 consecutive games for the first time since 6/30-7/4, 1953, when, coincidentally, they went 4-3 vs the Milwaukee Braves…in 2022, the Reds and Cardinals met on each side of the All-Star Game (0-2, 1ppd at StL & 2-1 vs StL).
- In 2022, the Brewers won 4 of 6 series and 13 of the 19 games.
GIANTS UP NEXT
- In 2022, the Reds earned a pair of 2-1 series wins vs the Giants, their first series wins August 2018.

- Their 9 stolen bases on 6/3 vs Mil (Jake Fraley 3, Spencer Steer 2, Jonathan India 2, Will Benson, Stuart Fairchild) was their highest single-game total since 5/30/1976 vs LAD (9sb)…the Reds’ single-game record since 1900 for stolen bases in a game remains 10 (5/29/1913 at StL).
RED HOTS
- Beginning 6/14 the Reds have homered in 22 consecutive games (45hr), the longest single-season streak in franchise history, and went 17-5 in those games…the 1956 Reds held the team record by homering in 21 consecutive games…the Braves have Major League Baseball’s longest active home run streak (25g)…the Major League record is held by the 2019 NY Yankees, who homered in 31 consecutive games.
- The Reds have used 51 players…in 2022 used a club record 66 players.
- Reds baserunners in 70 attempts have scored 69 runs from second base on singles…both lead the Major Leagues.

- Made his Reds debut in the second inning of the 5-0 win on 5/11 vs NYM…relieved spot starter Derek Law and threw 3.0 scoreless innings, still tied for the longest appearance by a Reds reliever this season…was his first Major League appearance since 4/28/19 for KC vs LAA, his only appearance of that season, and his first win since his last appearance of the 2017 campaign (9/27/19 for Phi vs NYM).
- His start on 5/19 vs the Yankees was his first start in the Major Leagues since since 4/26/18 for Phi vs Ari.
MILWAUKEE BREWERS NOTES:
New Recruits
The Brewers make three selections (18th, 33rd and 54th) on the first day of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, which begins tonight at 6 p.m. CT.
On The Offensive
Since June 30, the Brewers have scored 59 runs in 9 games, averaging 6.56 runs per game…..their 59 runs during this period leads the majors and 6.56 runs per game trails only the Braves (6.75)…..the team has scored 5 or more runs in 8 of its last 9 games.
Burnes, Baby, Burnes!
Corbin Burnes yesterday was named to the National League All-Star squad as a replacement for the Braves’ Spencer Strider…..this marks Burnes’ third consecutive All-Star selection….. he is just the fifth player in franchise history to be selected to three straight All-Star Games:
