OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s placed outfielder Ramón Laureano on the 10-day injured list retroactive to June 22 with a fractured right hand and recalled outfielder Conner Capel from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.
Laureano is batting .213 with five home runs, 17 RBI and a .635 OPS in 56 games with the A’s. He was 2-for-24 (.083) over his last eight games. This is his second stint on the injured list this year as he was also out from April 17 to 28 with a strained left hamstring.
Capel joins the A’s for the second time in 2023. He was on the Opening Day roster and hit .258 with three RBI and a .665 OPS in 26 games before he was optioned to Las Vegas on May 3. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter is batting .297 with three home runs, 21 RBI and a .794 OPS in 38 games with the Aviators. Capel started 22 games in center field, 11 in left field and three in right field at Triple-A after making 11 starts in right field and seven in left field with Oakland.
