CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have added left-handed pitcher Tanner Banks from Class AAA Charlotte to serve as the 27th player for today’s doubleheader at New York-AL.
Banks, 31, has spent most of the season with Charlotte, going 2-0 with a 3.13 ERA (8 ER/23.0 IP), three walks and 30 strikeouts over 13 relief appearances. He has thrown 2.0-plus IP in eight of his 13 outings.
Banks also was with the White Sox from April 14-27, going 0-0 with a 3.38 ERA (3 ER/8.0 IP) and five strikeouts over four relief appearances.
