WHITE SOX AT A GLANCE
The Chicago White Sox have won five of their last seven games, seven of 10, eight of 12 and 14 of 24 as they continue a seven-game trip tonight at Detroit.

RHP Lance Lynn, who has won consecutive starts and three of his last four since 5/5, is scheduled to start for Chicago.

The Sox are 2-2 on the trip following last night’s 7-2 loss at the Tigers … they won two of three from 5/22-24 at Cleveland.

Following this four-game series at the Tigers, the White Sox will return to Guaranteed Rate Field for a six-game, seven-day homestand vs. the Angels (5/29-31) and Tigers (6/2-4).

The Sox are in fourth place in the AL Central, 4.0 games behind second-place Detroit and 6.0 behind fi rst-place Minnesota.

The Sox went 6-3 on their last homestand from 5/12-21 vs. Houston (1-2), Cleveland (2-1) and Kansas City (3-0) and 3-4 on the last trip from 5/5-11 at Cincinnati (2-1) and the Royals (1-3).

TONIGHT’S STORYLINES
Chicago is trying to avoid losing consecutive games for the first time since three straight from 5/10-12.

The White Sox are 14-10 over the last 24 games since 4/30 following a 7-21 start to the season … Sox pitchers own a MLB-best 2.55 ERA (35 ER/123.1 IP) in 14 games since 5/11.

Chicago starters own a 2.71 ERA (24 ER/79.2 IP), .204 average and 69 strikeouts in the last 14 games (10 quality starts).

White Sox relievers own a 1.59 ERA (6 ER/34.0 IP), .158 (18- 114) opp. average and .463 OPS in the last 11 games … nine of the games have been scoreless and three have been hitless.

The Sox are 7-2 and own a 61-27 edge in runs scored over the last nine games at Comerica Park.

Lance Lynn is 5-0 with a 2.36 ERA (9 ER/34.1 IP), 40 strikeouts and a .626 OPS in his last fi ve starts vs. Detroit since 8/2/19 … he has allowed two earned runs or less in five of the outings.

Luis Robert Jr. has hit safely in 18 of 22 games in May, going 27-79 (.342) with seven doubles, eight home runs, 16 RBI, six walks, eight multi-hit eff orts and a 1.143 OPS.

LAST NIGHT’S RECAP
The White Sox were limited to just four hits, including three singles, in their 7-2, series-opening loss at the Tigers.

Tim Anderson gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead with a RBI single in the third inning but Detroit answered with four runs on three hits and two walks off starter Lucas Giolito in the fourth.

Gavin Sheets capped the Sox scoring with a solo homer in the fifth before the Tigers scored on in the six and two in the eighth.

Giolito worked just 3.2 IP and allowed four runs on six hits and a career-high tying seven walks … Garrett Crochet and Aaron Bummer combine to allow three runs on four hits and four walks.

Chicago struck out 13 times, did not walk, committed an error, went 1-2 with RISP and issued 11 walks.

ELOY ON THE MEND
OF Eloy Jiménez is 0-5 with a walk in two rehab games with Class AA Birmingham … he has been on the 10-day injured list since (retro to 5/7) due to an appendectomy performed on 5/6.

THE TIMES ARE CHANGIN’
Chicago is 14-10 (.583) since 4/30, the best record among AL Central clubs and tied with Tampa Bay for eighth-best in the AL.

Alex Faedo started for Detroit and earned his first win of the season, giving up two runs on three hits with no walks and a career-best 10 strikeouts in 6.0 innings. José Cisnero, Jason Foley and Mason Englert each worked a scoreless inning out of the bullpen. Offensively, Akil Baddoo had a pair of hits, including a solo homer, while Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson each reached base four times with both going 2×3 with a RBI and two walks.

FAEDO FANS 10: Alex Faedo put together one of the best starts of his young career last night, throwing 6.0 innings and allowing two runs on three hits with no walks and a career-high 10 strikeouts. With the outing, Faedo became the third pitcher in franchise history to throw 6.0
innings with three-or-fewer hits allowed, no walks and 10-or-more strikeouts, joining Denny McLain on July 21, 1965 vs. Cleveland (Game 2) and Aníbal Sánchez on August 3, 2014 vs. Colorado.

GREENE MEANS GO: Riley Greene was on base four times last night, going 2×3 with a RBI and two walks. Dating back to April 26, Greene has hit safely in 21 of his last 25 games, slashing .364/.432/.525 with seven doubles, three homers and 12 RBI.
