MLB Preview: New York Yankees (25-19) at Toronto Blue Jays (24-18)

NEW YORK YANKEES NOTES:

AT A GLANCE: The Yankees continue their seven-game road trip tonight with the third game of a four-game set at Toronto (2-0 thus far)…will also play a three-game series at Cincinnati this weekend (Fri.-Sun.)…went 5-2 on their seven-game homestand, sweeping a three-game set vs. Oakland and splitting a four-game series vs. Tampa Bay.

OVER AND OUTLAW: Kevin Kiermaier got the Blue Jays on the board by launching a solo home run to center field in the 5th inning last night…Marked his 3rd longball of the season…Also led off the 7th with an infield single, finishing the game 2-for-4, his 12th multi-hit game of the year. The veteran is now batting .327 (37-for-113) for the year with 14 extra-base hits and 13 RBI (.909 OPS)…His 33 hits while batting 9th are the most in the Majors (2nd: Michael A. Taylor – 23)…Is now up to seven defensive runs saved, tied with Luis Robert for the most among center fielders.

ALL GAUS, NO BRAKES: Kevin Gausman gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over 7.0 innings last night… Piled up 10 strikeouts on 102 pitches (63 strikes)…Has recorded a quality start in seven of his nine outings this year.
