MLS Preview: New England Revolution (7-1-3) at Inter Miami FC (4-6-0)

Inter Miami FC and New England Revolution have each won two of the four all-time meetings, with both teams winning once at home and once on the road. Leonardo Campana scored a hat-trick in the last meeting in Miami (April 2022), the only hat-trick the Revolution have allowed under Bruce Arena.

Inter Miami FC has won two straight MLS matches following a six-match league losing streak. Only two teams in MLS history have immediately followed a losing streak of six or more with a winning streak of three or more matches: Colorado (5 straight wins) in 19979 and the New England Revolution in 2001.

New England Revolution has taken 10 points from its first five road matches this season (W3 D1 L1), equaling St. Louis City SC for the best road record in the league this year. This the third time the Revolution have earned at least 10 points from their first five road games of a season, also doing so in 2005 (11) and 2008 (10).

Josef Martinez has scored six goals in nine career matches against the New England Revolution, more than any other player since he joined MLS in 2017. Three of the six goals were scored in the first meeting in September 2017 as Martinez has scored three times in eight matches against New England Revolution since.

Bobby Wood scored his third goal of the season in New England’s 2-0 win over Toronto FC on Saturday, equaling his total from last season with Real Salt Lake. In just nine appearances this year, Wood already has more goal contributions (5 – 3 goals, 2 assists) than he had in either of his first two MLS campaigns.
